Plastic SCM is full featured distributed version control system, competing worldwide with best of breed SCM such as Perforce, ClearCase, Git and Subversion.

Keeping plasticscm.com website looking fresh and clear is a big task. The site explains what is Plastic SCM all about and it has to keep the pace with our core development team, which currently is able to produce features faster than can be published! The site needs to be attractive to different audiences ranging from project managers to hard-core coders. This is why we are looking for a full-time Front End web developer to help us with the design and implementation of the site.

The successful candidate will be passionate about coding and have an excellent eye for detail and an absolute commitment to making sure features on the website are well implemented and as bug free as possible.

Key Responsibilities

  • Translating requirements and mockups into fully functioning features using HTML/CSS and JavaScript (new features, tutorials, campaigns and so on)
  • Day to day maintenance of the plasticscm.com websites and optimizing code for the best user experience
  • Working together with colleagues of product development, external agencies and marketing to improve usability and implement a/b tests
  • Eventually contribute to web interfaces in Plastic SCM, although initially plasticscm.com is the top concern

    Skills and Requirements

  • Expert in HTML, CSS and Javascript
  • Knowledge of version control systems
  • Excellent communicator with a pragmatic able to understand requirements
  • Solid experience with Javascript
  • Experience with graphical software (e.g. Photoshop)
  • Dealing with browser compatibility and implementing workaround
  • B.S. in Computer Science or equivalent degree would be a great to have (or equivalent work experience)
  • Deep understanding of the intricacies of rendering across browsers IE 7+ on Windows, Firefox, Chrome and Safari
  • Spoken and written English is a must since all the materials you'll handle and create will be in English
  • Design flair (yes, we need you to have a taste for beautiful interfaces...)
